Here's a tutorial I've been wanting to share for a while since I love hair pieces. Then I saw these and was really inspired to show you how to make a cute bow for you hair.
You'll need the following items:
- 1 piece of fabric 3.5 inches by 6.5 inches
- 1 piece of fabric 1.25 inches by 4 inches
- An alligator clip
- glue (I use Aleene's tacky glue) and scissors
- needle, thread and button (optional but it looks so cute!)
First, fold the large fabric in thirds the long way (hot dog style) and glue the outside edge down.
Then fold the short edges in on the seam you just made so they meet in the center and glue down. Set that piece aside.
Here's the optional part. If you don't want to sew a button, just skip this. Stitch a button to the middle of the smaller fabric piece.
Wrap your smaller fabric piece the short ways around the larger piece to create a 'bow' and glue the edges to the back.
Finally, glue your alligator piece the long ways to the back of your bow. Let the glue dry for a few hours.
This bow makes the cutest accessory to dress up jeans and a tshirt or with a cute dress too. I think it's a great way to use up my scraps of fabric and stray buttons.
