Fudge for the Holidays

I made fudge for the first time this week and it was so easy. It's definitely going to be a regular thing for future holidays. Some of it went to the treats gift exchange at my work and the rest we're giving to family in these sweet little boxes I got at Joann's. I used the super simple recipe here and added dried cranberries and pistachios to the white chocolate and left the milk chocolate plain, a classic. I highly recommend trying this out if you are at all interested in making fudge. It makes a great base to add anything you want, I can't wait to try out marshmallows and walnuts!

Holiday Blast

We're still preparing for the holidays around here. I cannot believe that Christmas is just one week away. This holiday season was ridiculously short, don't you think? We finally got our stockings up tonite. I love them so much, the boy and I made them a couple years ago. I don't have any pictures of them, which seems silly, but I will try to take one and post it soon. This is my lovely wreath I got last year at Flutter. The woman that owns that store seriously has the best taste. This photo is totally grainy and dark which somehow captures the wreath wonderfully. I also got most of my holiday cards out. I made them and I want to share that project too. So much good stuff to get to and only 6 days left to do it!
Also, if you have a moment, Susan from West Coast Crafty was kind enough to include me in her round up of Crafty Wonderland on Craftstylish. She has a sweet baby named Pearl who now my wiener dog onesie in a variety of colors and sizes. I'm so happy that she chose to include me out of the numerous baby vendors that were there.

Ms. B loves the snow. She tried to attack it through the window.
Oh my, where do I begin? Well, let me start from the beginning. The weather forcast kept predicting snow for Sunday, the day of crafty wonderland. I was so convinced this was not going to happen that when I woke up on Sunday morning to our courtyard covered in snow, I was shocked and upset. We made it to the convention center and the snow was still coming down. But then the show started, and we heard there was a line, and it all seemed ok, however, the snow kept coming down and it got colder and colder.

By the end of the sale, as we headed home, there was a layer of ice beneath the snow. Ridiculous and SO disappointing. This is such unusual weather for Portland! The number of shoppers we had was definitely affected by the weather and my sales were about half of what I had projected based on last year. Ah well, we DID get some great holiday gifts for family and friends and I think my booth set up was one of my favorites.
ALSO, I extended my deadline for shopping in my shop. You must place your order by Tuesday December 16th to get it in time for Christmas.

Handmade Christmas Wish List

If I had unlimited money and could buy myself whatever I wanted for Christmas this year, these items would be the first I'd purchase. This is the stuff I find myself looking at over and over again! All photos are the shop-keeper's own.

Mini pouch from Oktak

Madge light from Domestic Construction

Soap dish tray from fruitflypie
What would you buy yourself this Christmas if money was no object?

Workin' For the Weekend (Well, NEXT Weekend)

Here's some gocco prints that I did tonite all in preparation for the upcoming festivities. I can't wait for the Crafty Wonderland holiday sale! I used this vintage camera print for the hang tags, shopping bags and some other goodies. What do you think?

Shipping Sale

My least favorite thing about shopping online is having to pay for shipping. That's why when sales like Chronicle Books friends and family sale happens, which offers 35% off all merchandise and free shipping, I jump at it. In fact, I knocked nearly half the people on my Christmas list off when I did some shopping at their online store yesterday. (If you want to take advantage of this sale, just enter "FRIENDS" in the promo box when you're checking out- The sale goes until Friday December 5th) I was so inspired by this and other "free shipping" sales I've seen that I decided to have one of my own. From now until December 15th, the last day you can place an order with me to get it in time for Christmas, I'll be offering free shipping when you order 2 or more onesies from my shop. Just send me a convo before you purchase, indicating the onesies you'd like to buy, I'll change the shipping amount to 0, reserve them under your name, and send you a convo back to let you know they're ready to buy. Easy, right?
