This fabric was found all together at the bins here in Portland a few weeks ago. I imagine some old lady was making a quilt or just had this all laying around until it was donated. All the prints look very 60s to me which I love. Since picking these babies up, I've come up with, oh about a million ideas for them but nothing has stuck yet. What do you think? Any ideas?
These brown, cream and red florals are some of my favorites.

I had a super great fall weekend even though I've been trying to fight off a cold for the last two weeks or so (no kidding!). The boy and I went to Powell Butte with some friends and walked the trails. We are not very outdoorsy so admittedly my favorite part was the thrift store we went to afterwards which was seriously so good! Regardless of my ineptitude at the outdoors, the weather was awesome and we were in good company so it made for a perfect fall day.
On the home front, I installed new drawer pulls in the kitchen found on sale at Anthropologie. We'll probably redo our kitchen cabinets in a year or so but in the interim, these drawer pulls make me very happy. My goal with the house at this point is to try to do something home related (besides cleaning) every week or so. Rearrange some furniture or put down a new rug. It keeps me motivated to keep going so that our home looks tidy, colorful and most importantly, like us.

This weekend was so lovely. First we had scones and coffee from Floyd's, which is right down the street from our place. I love this place. They have a bell in their drive thru that rings like an old gas station.
I also used the awesome Hambly Screen Prints and some bird stickers to make up a few thank you cards to keep on hand for those moments that seem to come so often now, where we need to send off a card to someone that's done something wonderful for us.
And finally, I'm still dying new fun stuff for the upcoming holiday sales. These blue onesies and long sleeve lap tshirts turned out great and looked somehow romantic against our bedroom curtains.
I also got my acceptance to the Crafty Wonderland holiday sale in December. I can't wait!

Well thank you! I got such a great response to my video, I'm already scheming for the next one.
On the home front we're having some electrical issues. When I called my dad to discuss these issues and get his take on them (hey, I'm young, I'm aloud to still call dad!) he laughed. Sometimes I think the idea of his only daughter being a home owner is so unbelievable to him that all he can do is laugh about it. Anyhow, this one issue has prompted us to possibly start the first big "improvement" on our home and replace all of our lighting fixtures. We definitely need a ceiling fan/lite for the bedroom and right now I'm really crushing on this one from Lowes of all places. Better than what we found at Home Depot but maybe still not "the one" you know?
And then of course, as I've mentioned before, I have an all out love affair going on with every single fixture at Schoolhouse Electric, a local company here in Portland. Yesterday I discovered this lite which could be amazing in our hall way. Any lite places that I'm missing the boat on? I want to get the very best quality for the least amount of money, which I think Schoolhouse really delivers on. Everything there is made in the U.S. and hand painted.

So this is the project that the boy and I worked on this weekend. It's a video tutorial for the feather hair clip I made. It was actually really fun to do this so I'll try to do some more before the holidays. I also have a youtube channel for Antelope Baby where I'll post these but, of course, they'll always get put up here too. Oh, and let me know if you have any questions about the tutorial! I think I was clear about all the steps but you never know.

This weekend the boy and I worked on something fun for my blog but it's not quite ready yet. I thought I'd show a sneak peak of some of the stuff I'm working on for the holiday season instead. I finished dying a couple batches of new baby clothes and I've got atleast one more batch to go. I love this green. It's almost neon but somehow grassy green at the same time.
The other fun personal project I'm working on is this embroider inspired by this book. As I've mentioned before, I've never been good at embroidery but I'm hoping this will help me get better. I got this awesome wool thread at the thrift store and the colors were totally inspiring.
Alright, so that's my weekend except for the super fun project that's not quite done so stay tuned for that. It should be up Monday or Tuesday.
