Picture by the lovely Amanda Jane
Oh my. I really am sorry I've been such a poor blogger lately. The last half of this month has been filled with housewarmings (ours and friends), birthdays (mine! and friends) and other "Let's finish up summer with a bang" activities. Ahhh. Well, I do have pictures that I can't wait to show but in the meantime, here are some super-super links. Blogs that I've personally been wasting a lot of time looking at lately. Blogs that make me happy that the internet is around so I can see how talented and awesome people are.
First up, Obsessive Consumption. This lady has a zine which I pretty much must subscribe too but also a blog titled "what did you buy today" It's wonderful.
Second is yarnstorm. A mother in the UK writes and takes pictures of domestic experiences I'll probably never have myself. She has an American version of her book coming out and I can't wait to get it!

As I mentioned earlier in the week, I will be at Crafty Wonderland this Sunday August 10th from 11am-4pm. AND because our car broke down again last nite and it will undoubtedly still be in this state on Sunday, this will be the first Crafty Wonderland where I sell only onesies and nothing else. I'm kind of nervous even though my onesies always sell far better than anything else for me. Alright, so please stop by if you're in the area. It's, of course, at the Doug Fir and, as always, there is a free DIY table and other super awesome vendors! I can't wait to see you.
Also, I did another shop update Wednesday nite. You can check out a few new items here.

I've had this end table for a while, I think I found it in the "Free Zone" of my last apartment in Seattle. It's a nice shape but the black color made it just sort of "blah." In our new place, we're really focusing on everything being light and bright so I decided this table needed a revamp. $3.50 can of spray paint later, I've got this super cute green end table for our living room. I did run into a few problems when I was painting it. First, the layers of spray paint needed to be really light so that it wouldn't bubble or run. I somewhat succeeded in this but it's still a little runny. Also, even though the weather has been wonderful lately, it was windy which made the paint go every which way. In the end, however, I love it and it really brightens up this corner.

The past week has been one of those time suck weeks where life is just flying by and I'm trying to stay standing upright while all the crap flies by me and all I'm left with is "It's Monday already?" Yesterday I fell down the last five steps coming down the stairs in our place. It's impossible for me to sit for a long time which makes my day job, a receptionist, really fun as I found out today. Regardless, I am trying to get ready for Crafty Wonderland this weekend. I've got a new design all ready to go, I've just got to finish the screen tomorrow so I can print up some new onesies. I was also planning on updating my shop today but picture downloading problems made that impossible (see, I told you it's been one of those weeks) so an update should happen tomorrow evening instead.
In the meantime, I finally scanned this lovely book I found at Thrift Town in Austin during SXSW. I love old books and this one is in really wonderful condition, although, I guess it's not that old anyhow. This weekend I also found some wonderful super old books that I will scan in soon. The covers are amazing.
