The Sampler!

Antelope Baby was one of the contributors to The Sampler for the month of August. The Sampler is a great way for small businesses to get their names out there and I’ve wanted to participate for a while. I had a ton of fun making all these vintage wallpaper tags and I’m going to try to contribute every couple months with different and new things! Take a look at the other contributors here.

Blog It Out Grrrl...

As promised, here is the beach tote photo. This is at the amazing Hugs Point, just 30 minutes north of Netarts Bay where we stayed. The trip was terrific. Seeing old friends and meeting some new ones! I can't wait to go back to the coast. The boy and I are in even thinking of doing a antique/thrift trip down the 101 highway before the end of summer. There are some awesome shops in that area, including Cool Stuff . Check it out if you are ever in Netarts! As a local told us, "You will never regret anything you buy at Cool Stuff."

I'm also working on some new crafts. I got some baby/toddler shirts and pants and breathed new life into them with patches and circular fabric painted designs. We'll see how they turn out. I'm not quite sure that I'm done. I used halfs of plastic eggs and even cookie cutters, dipped them in fabric paint and then stamped them on the fabric. I think they turned out pretty great. I wish my niece was young enough to wear them.
Finally, my etsy shop has been featured on Vintage Indie blog . Check it out! I'm so flattered that they chose me!

Netarts is for Lovers

Alright. I just realized how dorky I sounded in that last post. I don't care. Harry Potter is awesome. This weekend I am going on a last minute- thrown together- super awesome trip to Netarts Bay with Seattle friends. Holla! There will be no formal crafting there. Only BBQ, drinking and the water. But I will be bringing along my new reversable unicorn tote that I made a few weeks ago and I plan on forcing someone to take a picture of me with it on the beach.

Who's Mr. Weasley?

Ok. So, I lied. Absolutely no crafty posts this week! I blame it on Harry Potter.
I saw the movie last nite which I was super pleased about, although, I am never quite satisfied with the films because they cut so much out! And I'm also re-reading all the books to gear up for the release of the seventh next Friday. Right now, I'm about a quarter of the way through the 4th book. Do you think I'll make it?
For now, here are some amazing mushroom pouches I found at Little Odd Forest's etsy shop. Aren't they awesome?

Woah! Where'd the time go?

I seriously have no idea what happened to the last 2 weeks. First, my etsy shop has been pretty busy. I've been working on items like this check book which I will post this weekend and I've already sold one item and had a request to custom make four of my card cases. These guys are made of recycled vinyl book covers. They are super sturdy and I am loving all the hilarious book titles.

We also had company this past weekend. The boy's parents were in town and we went to dinner at Ciao Vito and vistied Multnomah Falls and just had a tremendous time! This is us at Bridal Veil. My dad told me later that you are supposed to see the ghost of an indian princess in the water of the falls, but we mainly saw birds and rocks.
I'm trying to commit to regular blogging- next week I am going to do something crafty each day and post a pick of what I've made. Hopefully I can get re-energized!
