I've been busy looking for a job and finishing up my design class but I made some time to celebrate Spring with these colorful onesies. These puppies are going to be for sale on May 13th at Crafty Wonderland at the Doug Fir but if you'd like to buy one before then, shoot me an email and I'll give you prices.
Other than that I've been busy finishing the organizing of my craft supplies and coming up with some new ideas that I can't wait to share!

Wow. Okay, I think I'm finally coming out of the weekend haze. Saturday was a terrific St. Patrick's Day. I went to some amazing thrift/vintage stores here in Portland where is seems like everything is half the price it would be in Seattle. Meaning items are priced at their actual worth and it's doesn't get jacked up simply because it's awesome.
The drinking began at a rummage sale on Hawthorne later in the day where Dan, Matt (a friend who recently moved to Portland from New York) and I took $1 surprise shots from liquor bottles wrapped in paper bags. More impressive than the cheap shots, however, was the amazing selection of stuff at the sale. I bought these shiny buttons and this broch to use on future craft projects (eyes for felt animals, maybe???). I'm actually amazed that the drinking didn't hinder my purchasing skillz and I was able to abstain from buying a vintage purse and some of the dollar records they had there, including one with a robot playing a guitar (spectacular!).

Ok, so since the move I have become very interested in looking at home decor which I would guess is a pretty common thing when you move. I found some beautiful fabric up at Bolt Fabric (www.boltfabricboutique.com) on Alberta (a 10 minute walk from our place) and it has inspired me to make some new pillows. I think this one might be for our home but if it ends up looking really great when it's stuffed and everything, then I'll whip up a few more to sell...
My iron in is one of the three unpacked boxes here so I'll have to wait to fill it until the edges get pressed. I'll put up a picture when it's completely finished, I was just so excited that I had to put this one up now. It's got a little patch on the bottom right corner with a circle and white heart. I love it!

Lately I've been really into hand cutting paper in preparation for one of my final projects for the design class I'm taking. I was inspired by some other recent handmade cards that I've seen to use an old map of Centre Pompideu in Paris as part of the materials for these cards. The other set of cards are actually note cards for my presentation on Paul Rand tomorrow. Hopefully all this practice will pay off on my final set of designs for class!
